Web 2.0

Tim O’Reilly is the founder and CEO of O’Reilly Media, Inc.
O’Reilly and MediaLive International had commenced brainstorming Web 2.0 at a conference and from here the notion of Web 2.0 had begun.

Tim O’Reilly definition of Web 2.0:

“Web 2.0 is the network as platform, spanning all connected devices; Web 2.0 applications are those that make the most of the intrinsic advantages of that platform: delivering software as a continually-updated service that gets better the more people use it, consuming and remixing data from multiple sources, including individual users, while providing their own data and services in a form that allows remixing by others, creating network effects through an "architecture of participation," and going beyond the page metaphor of Web 1.0 to deliver rich user experiences. “

My DEFINITION: Web 2.0 is the new era for the World Wide Web, it is a platform for modern day technology to advance. Life and everyday circumstances are thus made more efficient for people. It is a way through which our daily systems and networks have been simplified, to create a productive arena for the world of computer technology.
